Vesko Stambolov graduated from the
National School of Arts – Varna and National Academy of
Music – Sofia. Among his professors are M.Gineva,
D.Dimov and Kr. Taskov.V.Stambolov won many prestigious
prizes (among them - five FIRST) at national and
international piano competitions : S.Rachmaninov,
Vienese classics, Sv. Obretenov, A. Roussel (Grand
Prix), M.Canals (Barcelona), as well as the Special
Prize of the Chopin-Society in Paris.
He has toured England, Germany, Spain, Korea, Turkey,
etc. and has given numerous recitals in all Bulgarian
international music festivals.
He performed for the first time in Bulgaria the seven
piano concertos by J. S. Bach.
Metarecords – Berlin released two CDs of V. Stambolov
featuring the piano concertos by Bach and Chopin. The
CDs got enthusiastic media acclaim. The only European
magazine entirely dedicated to the art of piano
–Pianonews awarded his Bach-CD as a CD of the month for
May and June’2004 among 20 CDs of world famous pianists.
V.Stambolov was awarded the highest National Award for
Music – The Crystal Lyre 2004 for his high achievements
in piano art.
