Manfred Lindner
studied at the Musikhochschule in Detmold with Prof.
H-D. Klaus. At the early age of 16 he was invited to
play in Württembergischen Staatsorchester Stuttgart. His
first professional appointment was in 1984 as solo
clarinetist of the Jungen Süddeutschen Philharmonie and
from 1987 he played with Philharmonischen
Staatsorchester Bremen. In the period 1989-2002 he was
solo clarinetist of Badische Staatstheater in Karlsruhe.
At the same time he led a training course at the
Musikhochschule in Karlsruhe. In 2000 he became
Associated Professor at the Musikhochschule in Detmold
and since 2001 he combined that with his activity as
lecturer at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. Meanwhile
since 1992 he has been a solo clarinetist in the
orchestra of the International Ludwigsburger
Schlossfestspiele and since 2004 – member of the
Festival Organizing Committee. As co-founder of the
ensembles Profive, Al rivus,Trio d`manches Karlsruhe he
released several CDs. He gave numerous concerts as
soloist and chamber player in South America, Ukraine,
Russia, China and across Europe. Among his most
acclaimed collaboration projects are the chamber
performances with Edita Gruberova, Friedrich Haider,
Norman Shettler, Pinchas Steinberg, Kasushi Ono,
Consortium Classicum and Mannheimer Streichquartett. As
a lecturer and conductor he leads not only different
chamber music courses, but for years he has promoted the
Ensembleförderung des Landes Baden-Württemberg. He
tutors master classes in Germany, China, etc. In 2000 he
was honoured with the Kammermusiktitel des Landes
Baden-Württemberg. Since 2002 he has been Professor at
the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen.
