During her studies at the Dobri Hristov Music
School in Vrana YANA BUROVA
won first prize at the Czech and Slovak Music
Competition, second prize for best performance of a
chamber work by a Bulgarian composer, and in 1996 won
second prize in the Svetoslav Obretenov National
Competition.
She continued her studies with Prof.
Yfrah Neaman at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in
London. In 2002 she was a scholarship student of the
Bulgarian virtuoso Vasko Vassilev at London’s Trinity
College of Music.
The young violinist won the first
prize at the J & Bear - national contest for performing
a concerto by a classical composer, held in London. She
has attended master classes of Mintcho Mintchev, G. Pauk
and Maxim Vengerov.
VESELINA CHAKAROVA graduated at the Lyubomir
Pipkov Music School in Sofia. She won the third prize in
the Stressa International Piano Competition in Italy.
In 1995 she was the winner of the
Union of French Musicians and Artists Competition in
Paris. In 1999 she entered the Guildhall School of Music
& Drama in London, and in 2001 made her solo recital
debut in London.
She has attended the master classes
of Leslie Howard, Paul Roberts and Joan Havill.
Veselina has performed in Italy,
Bulgaria (opening recital of the 2006 Young Musical
Talents Festival in Sofia), Great Britain. Currently she
resides in London, where she performs solo and chamber
concerts, and teaches at St. Paul’s Cathedral School.
