BILYANA VUCHKOVA
has concertized in Europe, Asia and the USA as a
recitalist, chamber musician and soloist with orchestras
such as the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the New England
String Ensemble, the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra, and
the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, etc.
Her performances have taken her to some of the world
most celebrated concert venues in New York, Boston,
Tokyo, Taipei and Granada. She is a dedicated chamber
musician and strong believer and interpreter of
contemporary music. Currently she is a concertmaster of
Boston Modern Orchestra Project and member of the
Radius, NotaRiotous and DUOKAYA ensembles. Her recently
released CD is named Faces. Her musical versatility has
let her to the world of improvisation as well and she
approaches contemporary classical repertoire with
freedom and inspiration. She graduated at the Music
School of Sofia, continued her studies at the University
of Southern California and received Master degree at the
Mannes College of Music in New York.
AGA DZIUBAK was born
in a family of musicians. After graduating at the Music
Academy in Gdansk she continued her studies at the
Boston Conservatory. She won Grand Prix and Special
Award - XIII International Chamber Music Competition
(Lodz, Poland), first prizes at the contests in Poznan,
Gdansk, Toronto as well as the Musical Individuality
Diploma at the A. Tansman International Music
Competition. While a student she was strongly attracted
by the contemporary music. Dziubak’s performing is
remarkable for its exceptional sensibility and
non-conventional music expression. She has played with
the ensembles New England Strings, The Art of Music
Chamber Players, Callithumpian Consort, Zwischentone and
DUOKAYA. At present she resides in Berlin where she
shares her quest for new forms of expression in various
project with musicians and artists exploring the
relationship between contemporary composition and
improvisation.
ROSEN IDEALOV
graduated from the Music School in Varna and later from
the Music Academy, Sofia. Laureate of national and
international competitions, he has an extensive more
than 30-year long concert career as soloist and chamber
musician in Bulgaria, Europe, USA, China, Korea. His
repertoire includes over 400 pieces from the Renaissance
to 21st c. He is in demand especially as performer of
contemporary music. He has realized world and Bulgarian
premieres of more than 250 new works and over 100 of
them have been written especially for him. He has been a
member of various chamber orchestras, among them Musika
Nova Ensemble and has released nine CDs featuring
contemporary music. He teaches chamber music and
clarinet at the Music School, Sofia. Since 2006 he has
been a part-time lecturer at the National Music Academy,
Sofia.
MARIO ANGELOV
graduated in 1991 at the State Music Academy of Sofia in
piano subject. His teachers were the outstanding piano
pedagogues Lyudmila Chenkova, Prof. Nikolay Evrov and
Prof. Mara Petkova. He has won numerous awards at
national and international competitions. His
professional career features various appearances on the
music stage-recitals, soloist of symphony orchestras,
chamber performer, accompaniment player. He has
established himself as a performer of contemporary
Bulgarian and foreign music with his more than 20 first
performances and has an extensive recording activity.
Angelov has participated in many festivals in the
country and abroad. In 1991 he was appointed as pianist
of the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
GALINA BORISOVA
graduated at the State School for Choreography in Sofia
- classical dances and later she specialized modern
dancing techniques. In 1996 she was a scholarship
participant in American Dance Festival - International
Choreographers’ Residency Program. She worked for Deja
Donne. She received the first prize for her performance
A Never Ending Story at the International Competition
for Choreographers in Groningen (NL) and it was included
in the programme of the International Dance Festival
July Dance - AeroDance in Amsterdam’98. Since 1992 she
has been a lecturer at the New Bulgarian University. In
the period 1999-2003 she presented the Bulgarian
contemporary dance at the European Dance Organization
Aerowaves. In 2000 she took part in the International
Atelier of Composers in London - Royal Festival Hall.
She has been invited at a number of prestigious
festivals. Her solo Juanita Hildegard Bo was awarded
with a golden medal at the 30th International Festival
of Monodrama and Solo Performers in Belgrade-2005. |
