His solo recordings include the familiar masterpieces by Mozart (with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Philippe Entremont) as well as rare 19th century treasure by Carl Neuner and Peter von Winter (with the Wurtemberg Chamber Orchestra).

He was invited to perform the von Winter concerto, a work he re-discovered, at the 1984 International Double Reed Society Convention in Graz. Critics have unanimously praised Feit’s spectacular virtuoso technique as well as his exquisitely sweet and expressive tone. Born in Lorraine, France, Pierre Feit studied in and subsequently moved to Germany where he became principal oboist of the Essen Symphony while still a student, a position he was forced to relinquish in 1972 when the demand for his solo appearances became overwhelming. He currently teaches at the Folkwang Academy in Essen, and succeeded his teacher, Prof. J.B. Schlee as Professor of Master Classes there.

His extraordinary reputation has attracted the finest students from around the world to hid studio. Pierre Feit has been touring the USA regularly since 1975 with his own chamber ensemble. The Pierre Feit Concertino has performed in major halls in New York, Washington and Cleveland to rupture ovation.

The Concertino opened the first chamber music series inaugurating New York’s Merkin Hall in 1979. Numerous recordings have made the Pierre Feit Concertino a special favorite of chamber music lovers. Feit has performed with major orchestras around the world, including the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the West German Chamber Soloists, as well as with Scottish Baroque Ensemble.

His American engagements include appearances with orchestras in such cities as Detroit, Richmond and Charlotte. He has recorded for EMI, Acanta, Schwann, Peters, Philips, Deutsche Grammophon.
