Santa Cecilia Opera Studio gives an opportunity for young singers to improve their art in the true tradition of Italian Belcanto

Santa Cecilia Opera Studio gives an opportunity for young singers to improve their art in the true tradition of Italian Belcanto with the great interpreter and pedagogue Renata Scotto and the teachers Anna Vandi – vocal technique and Cesare Scarton – acting, movement, Italian diction. Besides the regular students' concerts at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Opera Studio organizes opera productions and guest performances at festivals all over the world.

RENATA SCOTTO is an internationally renowned artist with a repertoire that includes more than one hundred different roles in operas by Puccini, Mozart, Wagner, Poulenc, Menotti as well as many chamber works by Berlioz, Mahler, R. Strauss. Besides her career of opera singer she has had opera productions as a director in theaters such as Metropolitan Opera of New York and Arena in Verona –
in 1995, she won an Emmy Award for her direction of La Traviata which was broadcast live on American television.
As a teacher she is in great demand all over the world – Juilliard School and Metropolitan in New York, the Yale University, in Japan, Russia, Italy, Switzerland. Since 1997 she has been Accademico Effettivo at the Santa Cecilia Academy.
