Open-air concert, part of the parallel programme of Varna Summer International Music Festival.
The musical event in the yard of the Archaeological Museum of Varna is part of the activities of the project CECULT2018/ COOP1/ Festivallinks, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme 2014-2020, Culture sub-programme, under a call for project proposals EACEA 32/ 2017 – Support to European Cooperation Projects, to help the music festivals to master the growing challenge of audience development.
Festivallinks’ main goal is to support the partner festivals in coping the growing challenge of audience development.
The participating partners are the Dutch Bach Festival (Dordrecht), Silence Festival (Finland), Sorru in Musica Festival from Corsica, Varna Summer International Music Festival from Bulgaria and the International Bach Festival from the Canary Islands.
LUSTR, an innovative cultural agency specialized in audience development based in the Netherlands, coordinates the project.
The partners in the project collaborate with each other to make their festivals more sustainable and able to reach new, wider and more diverse audiences.
The unique process to achieve this goal combines the exchange of creative and organizational best practices between the partners with extensive scientific research. As a result, the project aims to strengthen the potential not only of the participating partners, but also of the European classical music sector and its audience as a whole.
The conclusions made upon the experiences gathered and the exchange of practices will result in an audience development toolkit, which can be used by other music festivals.
The progress made can be followed on the website of the project www.festivallinks.eu
