In 2005 he entered the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied with Jean Sulem and went on to graduate with the highest honours. That same year, he won First Prize at the French National Young Violists Competition.
In 2008, he was invited to take part in Seiji Ozawa's International Music Academy in Switzerland alongside his cellist brother, Christian-Pierre. Whilst there, he had the opportunity to work with Robert Mann, Pamela Franck, Nobuko Imaï, Sadao Harada and Seiji Ozawa. After receiving his Master's degree at the Paris Conservatoire, he completed a Concertmeister program in Leipzig with Tatjana Masurenko. He currently studies at the prestigious Hans Eisler's Hochschule in Berlin with Tabea Zimmermann. Other influential teachers include Nobuko Imaï, Lawrence Power, Kim Kashkashian, Hatto Beyerle, Antoine Tamestit and Yuri Bashmet.
Adrien La Marca has made acclaimed debuts at the Auditorium du Louvre, Schloss Elmau, Salle Rameau Lyon, Grand Théâtre de Provence, the Wigmore Hall London, Abbaye de Royaumont, and the Cité de la Musique (William Walton concerto). Further to this, he participates in numerous festivals such as Merrick, Miami; Les Nuits Pianistiques; Aix-en-Provence; Périgord Noir; Folle journée Nantes; Musica, Strasbourg; Grange de Meslay; Bad Kissingen; Ravinia; Verbier and Kuhmo. Chamber music partners include Alina Ibragimova, Renaud Capuçon, Franck Braley, Nicholas Angelich, Andreas
Brantelid, Michel Portal and the Ebène quartet.
2010 was an outstanding year. In March, Adrien was selected by Gidon Kremer to take part in the "Chamber music connects the world" programme where he performed alongside Andras Schiff, Yuri Bashmet, Frans Helmerson and Gidon Kremer. After successively becoming laureate of the "Spedidam Generation" scheme, Adrien was a finalist in the 16th International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria. He also won three special prizes at the 10th International Lionel Tertis Competition (including best interpretation of both the Brahms sonata and compulsory work).
Adrien has been invited by Renaud Capuçon to perform in a quartet celebrating the Busch Quartet (1919 – 1951). The ensemble will present a European tour in 2015 with concerts in Amsterdam, London, Bilbao, Alicante, Genève and Schwartzenberg. In March 2016, he will make a first solo
appearance in Asia, including his recital debut in Tokyo, Japan.
In 2012 Adrien won the prize for best interpretation of the William Walton concerto at the 13th International William Primrose competition and was voted 'the most outstanding personality'. The same year, he was the first violist to win the "Avant-Scènes" competition in Paris. As a winner of the "Fondation Banque Populaire", Adrien is supported by "L'Or du Rhin" foundation. In 2014, he was made "Révélation Soliste Instrumental" as part of the televised and highly publicised "Victoires de la Musique" and was the only classical musician to be recipient of the prestigious "Fondation Lagardère".
Adrien is very fortunate to play a viola by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, kindly lent by the Zilber/Rampal Foundation.
