Darina Krosneva graduated from “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” National Academy of Music in Sofia, majoring in choral conducting under Prof. Samuil Vidas.
Since 1979, for 40 years she has been conducting Varna Boys and Youths choir, working separately with the three main choral formations: boys, youths and mixed choir.
Under her leadership the choir made a number of significant performances and was honoured with prizes, awards and diplomas from national and international choral festivals and competitions in Bulgaria and Europe. She won the Special prize for the best performance of an obligatory song for Male choir and First Prize in Monteux, Switzerland. During 40 years she established Varna Boys and Youths Choir as one of the most renowned Bulgarian choirs.
She performed with a great success in Poland, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Italy and America.
She recorded with the Choir in the Belgian Radio, Radio ‘’Chablais’’ /Switzerland/, the Bulgarian National Radio and Radio Varna.
From 1981 until 1985 Darina Krosneva has been the chief conductor of the Female Choir of Medical Workers and winner of a gold medal with the women’s choir at the National Competition of Amateur Choirs.
Darina Krosneva was awarded Silver Lyre /2009/ and Golden Lyre /2014/ by the Bulgarian Musicians’ and Dancers’ Union for her complete work, high artistic achievements and long artistic career. In 2014 she was awarded Golden Century Prize and Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Culture for exceptional and entire contribution to the Bulgarian culture.
She was invited as a member of a jury in Debrecen /2008/, International May Choir Competition, Varna /2008, 2010/, Tours, France /2010/, Preveza, Greece /2011/.
Long-standing member of the Organizing Committee of the International May Choir Competition “Prof. G. Dimitrov,” Chairperson of the Conductors’ Collegium in Varna at the Bulgarian Choirs’ Union.
In 2019 Darina Krosneva will celebrate 40 years of her creative work as a conductor of Varna Boys and Youths Choir.
