Taking its name from a prevalent theme of the age of
Louis XIV, LE TENDRE AMOUR is a group of
musicians who have been drawn together by their common
dedication to performing music of the late 17th and
early 18th c. in a way that is inspiring to the
audiences of today.
Period instruments, a
creative selection of repertoire, and timeless
musicality combine to convey the spirit and emotion of
music of unparalleled beauty.
The ensemble is based
in Barcelona, though its members originate from
different countries. In its short existence, they have
performed at early music festivals in France, Spain,
Hungary, Austria, Germany.
Their debut CD Le
Passage de la Mer Rouge was just released under the
label K617, featuring a unique collection of French
sacred cantata repertoire.
Since 2007 the group
has enjoyed the status of ensemble in residence at the
SEVIQC Brezice Festival in Slovenia with performances of
Jewish baroque music, and in 2008 Le Tendre Amour was
awarded the prize for best interpretation with this
repertoire at the Varazdin Baroque Evenings Festival,
Croatia. |
