SEOUL SINFONIETTA was established by the
violinist Young Zun Kim in 1987, who has been its leader
and conductor.
The Orchestra has been
invited to play at International festivals such as the
Milstadt Music Festival, Salzburg Place Music Festival
and Kusatsu festival in Japan.
Their concerts around
the world have been praised by media and audience alike.
One of Seoul
Sinfonietta's goals is to educate and cultivate a
feeling towards classical music in general audience.
The members of Seoul
Sinfonietta hold prestigious degree from schools in the
USA and Europe.
Among the prestigious
Orchestra's awards is the Grand Prix of the Year from
the Music Reviewers Association in 2007.
YOUNG ZUN KIM
belongs to a selected group of musicians who can combine
teaching and flourishing careers as a soloist, conductor
and a chamber musician. His educational background leads
back to Seoul National University, Vienna Music
Hochschule and Russian Gnesin's Academy.
He started his professional career by
winning the 1st prize at Dong-A Music Competition, the
most prestigious competition in Korea.
He is prizewinner of
Nanpa Award, Musician of the Year Award, Korean
Musicians Prize, etc.
He has appeared as a
soloist with the Chamber Orchestras of Frankfurt and
Kiev, with the Philharmonic Orchestras of Moscow, Osaka,
Donetsk, Sofia…
He is now soloist and
director of Seoul Sinfonietta and professor in music at
the University of Seoul.
KEE-YUNG YANG
completed her music studies in Seoul and after that
improved her vocal mastery at D. Verdi Conservatory in
Milan.
She is prize winner of
competitions in Korea and the international contests
N.Vincenzo and V. Viotti in Italy.
Among her major
performances are La Traviata, Rigoletto, L'elisir
d'amore, Die Zauberfloete, etc. She has appeared on the
stages of the Sofia National Opera, Pushkin National
Opera, Rumania National Opera… |
